Bruno my cat who was 17 years old finally had to go to sleep in the 15th August, the day before my birthday. He had a bowl problem and the vet said he was slowly dying. I was devastated and feel so guilty that i made that decision to end his life then rather than 5/6 weeks down the line. I thought he was suffering too much............but how did i know for sure??
I weaned Brun and his 3 brothers with an eye dropper and baby milk at 1 day old. After 3 sleepless nights of feeding the 4 kittens, 3 died and Frank Bruno lived!!!!!He was a fighter. He spent the first 2 months sleeping in my pocket. I used to live in the same 2 cardigans which had pockets, just to keep him cozy and warm like his mother would have.
I was his mother!
I can't say Bruno was a cat that liked cuddling or sitting on my lap. He was too independent and in control. The most he would allow me affection was a nip on the ankle from time to time, at which point he would hiss and run away. He would repeat this 2 or 3 times within 4 minuites.
Frank Bruno lived up to his name for 16 years when we would box together, he standing on his back paws and using his fron paws like hands fighting my hands. He was always the winner, coz he had sharp claws.

I will remember you always Bruno
So sorry for your loss I'm sure Bruno had a marvelous life with you. Though they do leave a big hole when they have to go. Thanks for stopping by and leaving the kind words that post was sent to me at work at a time I needed a little boost. Life is what we make it no excuses no regrets. Have a great weekend Lucky.
please don't feel guilty about making that decision about Bruno, I think no one would doubt that you made it in the best of his interests. If anything, you helped him cross over the Rainbow Bridge in a more timely manner, i guess o:)
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Bruno! Losing a beloved pet is as hard as losing a human loved one, sometimes even harder! I have a Welsh blog friend who just lost her Golden Retriever...another oldster who lived to a ripe old age! They give us such undying and often undeserved devotion, don't they? Hugs to you, dear friend...and I'm glad to hear you're sticking around! Yes, lots have drifted away but others come along, too...very much like 'real' life, I'm thinkin'. I finally got a new computer with DSL that whips all over cyberspace, so I'm hoping to be able to get around more often, now that I don't have to wait 20 minutes to half an hour just to connect to the internet!! Stop by and say hello when you get a chance.
